How Do Male and Female Roles Differ in Your Family?
A recent post from the Motherlode, a NYTimes blog we cited multiple times has sparked an interesting debate about how the U.S. Census Bureau considers mothers the ‘designated parent’. The NYTimes Learning Network, put it to kids ages 13 and above for comment. Even if your child is not yet of age, how do you think they would respond to the following question?
Who would you say does most of the “parenting” in your house (even if that person is neither a mother nor a father, but a grandparent, sibling or someone else)? Who does most of the housework? To what extent do the roles in your house seem to fall along traditional gender lines? Why?
